Spring is a great opportunity to wear colors that you wouldn’t normally consider wearing. Button down shirts come in every color of the rainbow, but to set yourself apart from the pleated khakis, navy blue blazer wearing working man and invest in a pair of colored chinos. Red, orange (If you are feeling daring), green/olive, navy blue are great colors for chinos.

The fit of the chino is also very important; it makes or breaks the outfit! No pleats! What are you trying to hide anyway?! A tapered leg gives the chino a modern twist, while a straight leg chino will give off that classic feel. It is all about what you are more comfortable in, and being comfortable should not be directly associated with baggy; Baggy looks sloppy.

After cleaning my closet this week, it was hard to not take notice of the amount of shoes I own. With over 30 pairs of sneakers, boots (both for winter or inclement weather and more dressy options) dress shoes, moccasins and sandals lined up on the bottom of my closet; I should restrain myself from yet another pair.

Recently, I have utilized the dress shoe section of my closet. With interviews, presentations and events that require professional attire, I’m always weighing comfort and style at top priority when choosing that perfect dress shoe.
